Real Madrid goalkeeper Andrey Lunin is not considered the winner of the Champions League under UEFA rules, according to Mundo Deportivo.
According to the source, the rules of the Union of European Football Associations state that the player who has not spent a single minute during the tournament can not be considered the winner of the Champions League. The Ukrainian goalkeeper spent all the matches of the Champions League of the 2021/2022 season on the bench.
Recall that on May 28, Real Madrid beat Liverpool 1-0 in the final match. Andrei Lunin did not take part in the game, having spent the entire match on the bench.
Of the Ukrainian players, Andriy Shevchenko with Italian Milan in the 2002/2003 season and Anatoliy Tymoshchuk with Bayern Munich in the 2012/2013 season achieved victories in the Champions League.
