UASLP medical students receive recognition for academic merit – El Sol de San Luis

The delivery of the recognition of academic merit is an event that is traditionally awarded to the first, second and third place of each of the degrees that are studied in the degrees of Medical Surgeon, and in Environmental Sciences and Health, programs taught at the Faculty of Medicine of the UASLP. In addition to the distinction to the first three places of the generation of each of the races.

The award ceremony for academic merit took place in the Auditorium of the Faculty of Medicine, and was chaired by the rector, Dr. Alejandro Zermeño Guerra, accompanied by the director of the host campus, Dr. Ismael Herrera Benavente and other educational authorities of The Faculty, which they recognized, have good teachers, but above all extraordinary students.

It should be noted that this year there were several draws due to the high academic level, especially in the sixth year of the Surgeon career.

Recognition of Academic Merit is an internal award with an impact on subsequent performance, especially in the career of Surgeon, where it is always considered to have obtained one of the first places of the generation for the selection of some students within the specialty or hospital where they wish to go.

On this occasion, there were 48 young people who managed to obtain this recognition, which within other objectives, generates healthy competition among the students, who are motivated to obtain an award as appreciated as this one.

The students who obtained the first places of the 2019-2020 generation are Santiago Cueli Bárcena, from the Bachelor of Medical Surgeon, and Luis Antonio Rico Guerrero, from the Bachelor of Environmental Sciences and Health, who recognized the opportunities that they have when training academically in a Faculty of national prestige.
