Two students killed in school shooting in Des Moines

Two students were killed in a shooting at a school in Des Moines, reports the New York Times. 20 minutes after the attack, the police stopped a car two kilometers from the scene of the attack and arrested “several suspects”.

A shooting erupted shortly before 1 p.m. (local time) inside a school in downtown Des Moines, The New York Times reports. Two students and a teacher were injured, police said. unfortunately, both students were pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital. The professor, for her part, remains in serious condition and had to undergo an emergency operation.

Twenty minutes after the shooting, three people were taken into custody following a traffic check about three kilometers from the scene of the shooting. Two people were arrested while the third fled before being intercepted by a police dog. At present, the motive behind this attack still remains unknown.
