The news broke on Monday: two players from Stade Nyonnais tested positive for coronavirus. The first, an element in test, felt symptoms Friday, after the friendly match against Lyon. The Colovray club then immediately asked him to stay at home. “On Sunday, this player told us that he had tested positive. We therefore sent the whole team to be tested, ”indicates general manager Varujan Symonov, confirming information of“ 20 minutes ”.
Result: another “yellow and black” player was found to be positive for the coronavirus. He has been quarantined, although he is asymptomatic. “On Saturday he was even one of the best on the pitch,” said Varujan Symonov. Because, yes, this weekend, Stade Nyonnais faced Annecy, in Divonne. The French club has also decided to suspend all the activities of its first team, until further notice, as he explains in a press release published this Monday evening on its site.

For its part, Stade Nyonnais will continue its preparation normally. “Apart from these two cases, all the other players and the coach are negative,” explains the general manager who was also tested.
“The situation risks becoming unmanageable”
The Vaud club had already carried out a massive screening before its meeting against Nantes, at the request of the French club. In Colovray, where the people of Nyonnais share the infrastructure with Stade Lausanne Ouchy, disinfectants and masks have become as essential as shin guards and crampons.
But the Stadium must also face some additional difficulties, since the “yellow and black” spend a fair amount of time on the road, Colovray being preserved and prepared for the final phase of the Youth League. “In this context, we can expect anything, even if we do what is necessary. These times, we have to play outside. By moving, we not only risk losing but also catching the virus. When all the championships – including the amateurs – have resumed, it may become unmanageable, ”concludes Varujan Symonov.
