(Motorsport-Total.com) – Variety: In the 2022 NASCAR Cup season, this word is reflected not only in the winner lists, but also in the racing calendar.

The “Monster Mile” in Dover has only been driven once per season since 2021

After a superspeedway, a dirt track, a half-mile oval, a three-quarters mile oval, a circuit and a 1.5-mile oval, it’s back to a one-mile oval this weekend. Such a vehicle was last used in Phoenix in mid-March.

Now it’s the turn of Dover Motor Speedway. And this calls for his only cup race this year on Sunday. Because since 2021 there will no longer be two races per season on the “Monster Mile”. Instead, the Nashville Superspeedway got a race and Dover lost one.
