Trout bids for Scherzer’s signature

Rotation is again one of the priorities Angels offseason. Max Scherzer is one of the best mounts available on the market, despite his age. Can a meeting between both parties be possible?

So expects all-star Anaheim team center patrolman Mike Trout. According to MLB.com’s Mark Feinsand, Trout is pushing the Angels to sign the 37-year-old ace.

Los Angeles-Anaheim will have the flexibility in payroll to make room for a contract of $ 35 million per year or more for Scherzer.

That said, the Angels will likely need to deal with multiple arms. General manager Perry Minasian will have to decide between going for Scherzer or spreading the team’s resources over two free-agent pitchers.

MLB Network contributor Ken Rosenthal wrote in The Athletic (subscription required) that the Angels come to Robbie Ray, Marcus Stroman, Noah Syndergaard y Alex Wood as possible options. Rosenthal also mentioned Justin Verlander as another option. In addition, other reports have linked the group with the Venezuelan Eduardo Rodriguez y Steven Matz.
