## Executive Summary
Match play revamps the PGA Tour’s finale, turning the season‑ending championship into a two‑week showdown.

## Intelligence Brief
The PGA Tour announced that its postseason will conclude with a match‑play event. The announcement specifies a two‑week Tour Championship that will decide the champion. The change is slated to take effect for the 2028 season. Subsequent reports filled in the details.

Forbes described the overhaul as a World Cup‑style makeover, while Yahoo Sports noted that no LIV Golf players will participate in the new format. USA Today highlighted the aim of greater drama, and CBS Sports confirmed the use of two courses for the match‑play schedule. A Pioneer Press piece added that Minnesota could host one of the venues. Not all coverage agreed on the completeness of the plan.

Golf Digest cautioned that important questions remain unanswered, suggesting uncertainty about implementation specifics. The differing tones illustrate a split between outlets that view the announcement as final and those that see it as a work in progress. As it stands, the PGA Tour is moving toward a two‑week, match‑play championship beginning in 2028, to be played across two courses with a possible Minnesota site. The league’s schedule reflects the announced structure, while media outlets continue to monitor how the format will unfold and which venues will be finalized.
