## Executive Summary
Two cornerbacks land on the Steelers’ PUP list, upending preseason expectations for the revamped defense

## Intelligence Brief
Fans braced for a new look in Pittsburgh’s secondary are now forced to accept the absence of Jalen Ramsey and Joey Porter Jr., a surprise that muddies the optimism around the team’s defensive overhaul. The surprise stems from medical setbacks: NBC Sports notes Ramsey began training camp on the PUP list because of a knee injury, while Steelers.com confirms Porter also moved to the PUP list.

ESPN’s report bundles both players together, reinforcing the reality of the roster hit. Yahoo Sports adds that supporters may have to wait longer than anticipated to see Ramsey in the new defense, underscoring the immediate impact on fan expectations.

The open question centers on the Steelers’ next moves: whether additional personnel adjustments will be announced, how the defense will fare without its top corners, and if the injured players can return later in the season, as the team navigates its 2026 camp schedule.
