## Executive Summary
Rockstar Games co-founder Dan Houser has entered the discourse regarding the decline of physical media in gaming, specifically targeting the PlayStation disc-less trend.

## Intelligence Brief
Gamers facing a future without physical media are seeing increased debate over the availability of discs for major titles, including GTA 6. This conversation has gained momentum following recent comments from Rockstar Games co-founder Dan Houser, who suggests that companies maintain an obligation to provide physical options if consumer demand remains persistent. While digital distribution offers clear advantages, the push for physical longevity remains a focal point for industry veterans and players alike.

This shift in public discourse follows reports from outlets like GAMINGbible, Kotaku, and Push Square, which detail Houser’s stance on the PlayStation disc phase-out. Coverage notes a tension between the convenience of digital-only platforms and the persistent requirement for physical media. While some outlets like eGamers.io suggest a level of indifference from Houser toward the medium itself, others, such as levelup.com, highlight his firm insistence that manufacturers must still serve the needs of dedicated physical media users.

Whether this intervention influences hardware developers or software publishers to reconsider their distribution strategies is currently unknown. The discussion underscores a divide regarding the future of game ownership and accessibility. Coverage does not yet specify if this stance will impact the physical manufacturing plans for upcoming releases or lead to a reversal of the digital-only initiatives currently pursued by major console manufacturers.
