## Executive Summary
Physicists at the University of Birmingham have simulated a 'mini-universe' where time emerges spontaneously without the need for a clock.

## Intelligence Brief
Researchers created a tiny quantum universe using 24,000 ultracold rubidium atoms. Within this cloud of atoms, scientists observed time emerging—a phenomenon described in coverage as 'entropic time'—where the system developed a sense of 'before' and 'after' without an external timepiece.

Reports from ScienceDaily, Live Science, and The Times of India emphasize that this experiment demonstrates a key theory of time. Coverage from WION and TechEBlog highlights observations of time speeding up, slowing down, or stopping, with some reports suggesting the findings imply time could be an illusion or capable of creating itself.

Future attention will likely focus on the implications of 'entropic time' and the specific mechanisms by which time behaves inside these ultracold atomic clouds.

## Verified Facts & Key Claims
