September 11, 2001 is a sad date. Nearly 3,000 people were killed in terrorist attacks in the United States, many of them in New York. Firefighters were among the dead. One of them was Scott Davidson.

His son Pete, known from the US cult show “Saturday Night Live”, has now written an autobiographically colored script about his experiences, together with Dave Sirus and the director Judd Apatow. And he also took the lead role. In the tragic comedy “The King of Staten Island”, Davidson plays a 24-year-old who never got over his father’s heroic death. He is completely without drive and prefers to joke rather than regulate his life. But then his mother falls in love again and Scott has to painfully learn that he finally has to grow up.
