The 85th edition of Tour of Switzerland turns into a nightmare for the organizers! A hotbed of Covid-19 contagion seems to have broken out within the peloton and abandonments linked to the virus have been increasing for 24 hours. This Friday morning, no less than 29 non-runners were announced by the various formations, some of them having even left the race, which is the case ofAlpecin-Fenixof Bahrain Victorious and D’UAE Team Emirates. After much discussion with the teams, the CPAwhich is the main riders’ union, and the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI), the organizers of the Tour of Switzerland decided that the race would still continue, as explained by its director Olivier Senn.
