Tim, agreement on 2,200 voluntary departures and 550 hires. The trade unions: “Defense the occupation”

The agreement between Tim and the trade unions (Slc Cgil, Fistel Cisl and Uilcom Uil) was signed yesterday evening, after two days of negotiations, which provides for 2,200 voluntary exits in the two-year period 2022-23 to be accompanied 5-6 years earlier to retirement with the use of the instruments of the expansion contract and isopension. Another hundred voluntary departures, pending the agreements, are foreseen in the companies associated with Tim like Noovle and Olivetti.

The detail of the agreement

The signed agreement, which will be illustrated in the next few hours to male and female workers, provides for the application of the expansion contract for approximately 27,000 employees by implementing a reduction in working hours and at the same time opens the possibility for approximately 2,200 workers to be able to access voluntarily to early retirement, targeting a maximum period ranging, depending on the professional categories, from 5 to 6 years. Important training courses for requalification and the adaptation and enrichment of skills are also continued, accompanied by a generational turnover that provides for around 550 hires between 2022 and 2023.

The comment of the trade unions

The Fistel Cisl, explains Alessandro Faraoni, general secretary of the union“While not agreeing with the business plan of Tim which provides for the separation of the network from services is satisfied by the outcome of the negotiation because it guarantees wage and employment continuity in a company that suffers from the heavy market contraction and low margins. The qualifying part of the agreement then provides for a training cycle for employees in cde with the aim of adapting skills and with the aim of hiring young people for occupational turnover “.

“We believe – declares the Uilcom Secretary General Salvo Ugliarolo – that what I have signed represents a fair balance between the situation in which Tim finds himself and the protection of male and female workers albeit in a very complicated framework in which the serious economic and industrial crisis of the group is certainly not overcome but employment stability is achieved for the next few months guaranteeing, with this agreement, a shared path avoiding leaks forward or worse unilateral choices that would have put Tim’s staff at risk in such a delicate moment, also taking into account the fact that the current Government will carry out until elections of next September 25, the mere handling of current affairs “.

This “without prejudice to the clear opposition to the Single Network project which, as a trade union, we have contested since the beginning and on which, even today, we remain absolutely convinced is a wrong choice on which we will continue to ask for a real table with the next government of comparison to explain our reasons for this industrial choice that cannot be shared “.

According to Riccardo Saccone, national secretary of the Slc CGIL, it is “an agreement that aims to secure the group’s employment perimeter for the next few months, minimizing economic losses for people”.

“An agreement – adds the trade unionist – which certainly does not solve the structural problems of the company but essentially looks at the protection of people. The knots linked to a wrong and mainly financial business plan all remain on the table. After all, the judgment of the markets also seems particularly severe with the overall system ”.

The Fistel Cisl, explains Alessandro Faraoni, general secretary of the union, “While not sharing Tim’s business plan which provides for the separation of the network from services is satisfied by the outcome of the negotiation because it guarantees wage and employment continuity in a company that suffers from the heavy market contraction and low margins. The qualifying part of the agreement then provides for a training cycle for employees in cde with the aim of adapting skills and with the aim of hiring young people for occupational turnover “.
