A 20-year-old alcoholic driver suffered only slight abrasions in a serious crash in Werfen (Pongau) on Sunday night. He lost control of his car on Werfenwenger Landesstraße (L229) and rolled over.
According to a report from the police, an intoxicated 20-year-old from Pongau lost control of his vehicle for an unexplained cause, whereupon the car rolled over and finally landed on the roof. The driver was able to free himself from the vehicle and suffered “only” slight abrasions.

He received first aid from the Red Cross and was brought to the Kardial Schwarzenberg Clinic for further examination. An alcohol test carried out gave a value of 1.5 per thousand. The 20-year-old Pongauer’s driver’s license was provisionally removed. The Werfen and Pfarrwerfen fire brigades, which were on site with a total of 36 emergency services and seven emergency vehicles, secured and recovered the severely damaged vehicle involved in the accident.
