On May 12, Surtsey Films and Filmin will premiere ‘Blanquita’ in cinemas throughout Spain. The film, written and directed by Fernando Guzzoni, is a social denunciation thriller that deals with the gruesome Spiniak Case, a judicial process that shocked Chile in the 2000s, exposing a network of child prostitution and pedophilia hatched by a famous businessman.

The plot introduces us to Blanquita, an 18-year-old girl who lives in a foster home. There she witnesses a scandal involving children, politicians and rich men who participate in sex parties. However, the more questions are asked, the less clear is Blanquita’s role in the scandal.

‘Blanquita’ has achieved important recognitions at film festivals. Recently, it won the prestigious Colón de Oro for Best Film at the last edition of the Huelva Ibero-American Film Festival. Its world premiere took place at the 2022 Venice International Film Festival, where it won the Best Screenplay award.
