EA Motive yesterday showed the first development broadcast of Dead Space Remake, Visceral Games’ space survival horror review. Rather than show gameplay, the program reviews the first details of its dismemberment system, the zero-gravity sections – which are now inspired by Dead Space 2– or the narrative changes to keep the essence but better connect the universe of the sequels. It is in pre-production so the graphics are still “in diamonds”, but the developer made some comparisons with the original that ElAnalistaDeBits has been in charge of compiling in this video with explanatory texts of the news.
The study is using the scenarios of Dead Space to aadir more elements and modern lighting. The same happens with the enemies, who respect the 2008 designs, but the gore will be more explicit: you can tear the flesh of the creatures and see the interior of their body, down to the bones, with a localized damage system.
That does not mean that EA Motive is limited to improving the graphics. The best has been taken and less inspired situations, scenarios and challenges are polished, content discarded due to lack of time is collected. “We started with the original Dead Space level design. The funny thing is, you can see some of the iterations that the team did before shipping. In the first chapter, you can see some corridors that they wanted to do a certain way first, and then you can understand why they changed it because of technical limitations or some other reason, “the study revealed.
The story will also expand
“There are some improvements we want to make to the story. Not necessarily improvements because those things weren’t really working on the original, more improvements because of what came next. We thought it would be interesting if we could refer to that, “says the creative director.
Actor Gunner Wright will revert to being the voice of Isaac Clarke, though the protagonist not be a very talkative character: only converse when there are dialogues or some situation where it would be strange that he did not comment.
Dead Space Remake It will be released on PS5, Xbox Series and PC but has no estimated release date yet.
