A woman of Guatemalan nationality who tried to introduce an AK 47 rifle into the country through a blind spot near the San Cristóbal border, in Santa Ana, was captured by elements of the National Civil Police (PNC).
This is Jaqueline Soraya Aguilar, who had the weapon hidden in a package when it was intercepted by agents of the Border Security Division.
“When he saw the presence of our teams, he tried to flee, but to no avail,” the authorities detailed.

With the reforms made by the Assembly in 2021, the crime of possession, carrying, or driving a weapon of war is punishable by up to 20 years in prison.
“As a Police, it is important to combat this type of crime, since we prevent these weapons from reaching the hands of terrorists who attack the population,” said the PNC.
