The parking lot at the Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport, in Carolina, is full to capacity reflecting the high number of trips made by Puerto Ricans and other island residents this week.

Aerostar, the company that manages the airport, reported through social networks that the parking lot is full and that it was necessary to open to the parking lots on the 5th and 6th floors of the place, which are usually for the use of employees.

“If you have flights in the next few hours, please take the necessary measures for transportation to San Juan”, indicates the company’s message.

In the week of Thanksgiving, during 2019, there were 200,886 passengers entering and leaving the island, Aerostar reported.

For the same period, but in 2020, there were 110,308 passengers.

The company expects that this year there will be 223,992 passengers entering and leaving the island. This after the pandemic affected travel.
