The winter solstice brought the longest night of the year

With the winter solstice, the longest night of the year arrived in the southern hemisphere of the planet, marking the beginning of winter.

During the astronomical phenomenon, the Sun will be at a greater declination to the south in relation to the celestial equator. This translates into a longer night in the southern hemisphere and a longer day in the northern hemisphere.

In Argentina, the solstice will occur this Tuesday at 06:13.

In Ushuaia, Tierra del Fuego, the National Party of the Longest Night was held, which began on Saturday and will last until Tuesday. La Mona Jiménez was a central figure this Monday at the municipal sports center.

The Fuegians are experiencing nights of up to 17 hours. At 10 in the morning it dawns and the night returns around 17.
