The World Bank Allocates $ 20 Million to Kyrgyzstan to Fight COVID-19. These funds are intended for vaccination of the population. Deputy Minister of Health and Social Development Uluk-Bek Bekturganov announced this at a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh Committee on International Affairs, Defense and Security.

According to him, half of the funds were allocated in the form of a grant, the other – in the form of a loan for 32 years.

“We buy vaccines approved by WHO for $ 17 million. We will be able to buy doses at the rate of 1 million people, ”the official said.

According to the deputy Abdyvahap Nurbaev, in addition to the vaccine, the Ministry of Health intends to buy a car for $ 202,000, computers for $ 100,000 and $ 293,000 to spend on 14 new project employees.

“Why hire new employees, because the Ministry of Health has a staff? This money should be completely directed towards vaccinations. Let’s exclude the cost of a car and computers from the project, ”he said.

According to the Ministry of Health, cars are being bought for mobile teams.

Colleagues supported Abdyvahap Nurbaev, saying that the allocated funds should be used to purchase a vaccine against coronavirus.
