In order to allow women to flourish through sport, the Wara sporting center is piloting a project called “ project to support the improvement of the health of women and girls » in the municipalities of Agoè 1, 2 and 4. One of the components of this project which consists of introducing young girls to the profession of arbitration began last Wednesday September 6.
Known for its dedication to the well-being of youth, the Wara sporting center continues to assert itself through its initiatives. The training center located in Togblékopé aims to contribute to improving the health of women and young people through sport. For this purpose a project has been set up. Entitled “project to support the improvement of the health of women and girls”, this project will take place from September to October in three municipalities of Agoè-Nyivé. Namely in communes 1, 2 and 4. The implementation of this project will consist of organizing mass sports, providing medical analyzes to women and young girls in these three communes to strengthen resilience in the face of non-communicable diseases. Awareness campaigns will also be organized on social networks, in health centers, in schools and the media on the theme “Women, Sport and Health”. Another component will also take into account the training of young girls wishing to take up the profession of refereeing and the organization of football galas. Expected to be officially launched this Saturday, September 9, the project saw the launch last Wednesday of the training component for young girls in the arbitration profession. What is the objective of setting up such a project? Eric Adontui, general coordinator of the project, gives us the answers here: “the main objective first of all is to contribute to the improvement of the health of women and young people through sport in the communes of Agoè-Nyivé 1, 2 and 4. It is a project which is open to everyone but descriptively it is at the level of the three municipalities because the activities that we carry out, there are players from certain clubs who are not necessarily from these three municipalities in which the project takes place. The results that we expect is to bring men and women to understand the issue behind sport for everyone because often when we talk about sport, it is an activity where men take the top. Women are a little left out. Which is not normal. This is why one of the activities included in the project is the training of girl referees. Allow young people to try their hand at refereeing. In the prefectural football district of Agoè-Nyivé, there are very few female referees who officiate matches. We found that the deficiency will surely come and we found the opportunity to initiate them. Those who take off, we will help them to freely embrace this profession”he declared before continuing in these terms: “Behind this training activity for women referees, we will organize galas which will be officiated by trained women referees.“, he added.
