Anderlecht will go to Villarreal with a strong core of supporters: around 900 will go to the Estadio de la Cerámica, home of the Yellow Submarine. The majority will calmly enjoy the Valencian sun, the terraces and the shaded alleys of Vila-Real…but a minority worries the local police.
Thus, in the regional press, we read that around 200 “radical” supporters of Sporting should be present. These are of course the groups of ultras that accompany the club on its travels this season. We know: at West Ham, things had degenerated between London and Brussels supporters. Against Steaua Bucharest too, there were tensions.
Result: the match between Villarreal and Anderlecht is classified as a “high risk match” this Thursday. This means that an increased police presence will be deployed. On the Anderlecht side, however, it is assured that everything will go well and that no manifestation of violence is to be expected.
