Experts from the German Technical Inspection Association (TÜV) conducted a study and presented the TOP of the most problematic cars in the secondary market. Experts told which of them are relevant for Russia.
The most common problem was oil leakage already in the second year of operation. It is noteworthy that it touched not only budgetary but also premium vehicle brands. Old cars are especially susceptible to this. Loss of oil can cause fires in vehicles and pollute the environment.
The second generation Dacia (Renault) Logan crossover took the first place in the rating. As noted by car owners, for a period of 2-3 years of operation, the failure rate was 10.4 / 56, that is, 10.4% of failures with an average mileage of 56 thousand kilometers.
In Russia, SUVs are equipped with a line of TCe engines in the TCe 150 version (installed on Arkana, Duster, Kaptur). These are motors built on the HR platform. The same engines (H4M) are used in the Russian Renault Logan, Sandero, Kaptur, Arkana and Duster. True, the engine for Russian Renault cars is assembled in Russia at the AVTOVAZ premises. According to motorists, the motor, with normal care, can cover up to 250 thousand kilometers.
The second place went to the German model Volkswagen Passat. When the car turns 4-5 years old, the failure rate is 19.8 / 90, and when it reaches the age of 6-7 years, the index increases to 25.3 / 120.
The third line remained for the Mazda 6. The bounce rate at the age of 2-3 years is 8.5 / 52. It’s about a restyled version of the current generation. It appeared (including in our market) in 2018.
Also in the TOP of the most problematic cars, experts noted Hyundai Tucson and Nissan Qashqai. The first model at the age of 10-11 breaks down in 34% of cases with an average mileage of 130 thousand kilometers (34/130), and for the second the failure rate was 32.9 / 136 at the same age of operation.
