The terrorism alert triggered in the Vatican

A 39-year-old driver broke into a police checkpoint.

Lhe Vatican security services activated a terrorism alert on Sunday after a motorist near St. Peter’s Square broke through a police checkpoint.

The 39-year-old driver did not stop this Sunday morning at the checkpoint. This resulted in a short chase, during which an officer shot at the wheels of the car. The police then arrested the driver with the help of a taser.

The chase took place in a very touristic place.

The intentions of the perpetrator are not yet known.
