The Swiss NHL – With Josi and Hischier as headliners
– With Josi and Hischier as headliners
The 2021-2022 NHL season begins October 12. About fifteen Swiss will play in North America, but not all are guaranteed to skate in the best league in the world.
The new NHL season (82 games) kicks off Tuesday night to Wednesday and will pit 32 teams since the arrival of the new Seattle Kraken franchise. Fourteen players and a single goalkeeper with a Swiss passport will skate in North America during the 2021-2022 campaign, but not all of them have the status of Roman Josi or Nico Hischier, the two Swiss NHL captains.
Romand Grégory Hofmann (Columbus Blue Jackets) and Seelandic Janis Moser (Arizona Coyotes) will try, from the minor leagues, to carve out a place along the way in the NHL. Since Biennese Gaëtan Haas left the Edmonton Oilers to return home, no Swiss will wear the jersey of a Canadian franchise this season. As for the Stanley Cup winner, he will be known in June. The Tampa Bay Lightning, two-time defending champions, will they pull off the pass of three?
