Two women who were visiting Soulak Canyon, a tourist site in the Republic of Dagestan, miraculously survived a horrific accident. The facts happened last May, but the images only recently surfaced on social media. The two tourists had settled on a swing to enjoy the view when a chain suddenly gave way.
The two young women were propelled into the void, but fortunately landed on a platform below. They were only slightly injured. Following this incident, which occurred on the edge of the deepest canyon in Europe, the authorities removed these swings, which were very popular with the public. Most of these attractions did not meet safety standards and did not have seat belts.
