The starting signal for the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 5G

Although it shouldn’t be too long before the Galaxy S22 series is presented, Samsung is now bringing another variant of the (still) current flagship model onto the market. Specifically, it is the Galaxy S21 FE 5G, which should follow in the footsteps of the successful S20 FE. The abbreviation stands again for “Fan Edition” and indicates that Samsung has responded to the wishes of customers with this variant.

The newcomer is immediately recognizable as a member of the S21 series. This is ensured primarily by the rear camera housing, which fits seamlessly into the frame of the 7.9 mm thick smartphone and ensures a uniform appearance. The linchpin of the Galaxy S21 FE 5G is the 6.4-inch FHD + AMOLED display with 120 Hz refresh rate, 240 Hz touch response rate and integrated fingerprint sensor. The drive is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 5G, which is supported by 6 GB RAM (128 GB variant) or 8 GB RAM (256 GB variant). The 4,500 mAh offers a fast charging option – 25 watts with cable and 15 watts cordless. Features such as NFC, IP68 certification, numerous sensors and fast WLAN round off the extensive equipment. Android 12 is preinstalled as the operating system on top of Samsung’s own One UI 4 interface.

When it comes to photos and videos, customers don’t have to accept any compromises either. The Galaxy S21 FE 5G offers the following camera setup:

  • 12-MP-Ultraweitwinkel-Kamera (F2.2, FOV 123 Grad)

  • 12 MP wide angle camera (Dual Pixel Autofocus, OIS, F1.8)

  • 8-MP Telephoto Lens Camera (30x Space Zoom, F2.4)

Users are supported by various AI functions and can edit, post and share scroll-stopping content, among other things. The smartphone also has an improved night mode compared to the Galaxy S20 FE. Recordings in poor lighting conditions can be optimized, which should ensure razor-sharp photos even in the dark. At the front, Samsung says it is installing its best selfie camera to date. 32 MP, F2.2 aperture, 81 degree angle and extended AI functions are among its highlights. And of course the dual recording function known from the other S21 models is also on board, thanks to which users can follow what is happening in front of and behind them on the display.
