The shooting at the McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas injures a "suspect", police say

A person was injured and treated at a local hospital after a shooting involving an officer at McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas on Thursday morning, officials said.

Described only by the police as a "suspect", it was not immediately known what offense the authorities believed they had committed.

The injured person was taken to the University Medical Center and the police announced that she was working on setting up a media gathering area in order to provide additional information.

McCarran Airport is located about five miles south of downtown Las Vegas.
