Russian tourists were offered an alternative way to fly to Greece via the United Arab Emirates. This information appeared on the website of the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR).
According to experts, it will be cheaper to get to the resort islands of Mykonos and Santorini with a transfer in Abu Dhabi. So, prices for low-cost flights to Greece from the UAE start at three and a half thousand rubles one way. The flights are planned to be operated by the low-cost airline Wizz Air Abu Dhabi. At the same time, it is noted that the road from Moscow to Abu Dhabi and back will cost about 46 thousand rubles.
However, experts recalled that a regular Moscow-Athens flight will cost much more – just for a one-way ticket you will have to pay 65 thousand rubles.
Despite the benefits, aviation experts are not sure if such a connection will be popular with tourists. Mostly doubts are caused by the time spent on the road – the total travel time can reach 12 hours.
Earlier in May, it became known about the plans of Greece to receive travelers vaccinated with Sputnik V. According to the country’s tourism minister, Haris Theocharis, the Russian vaccination has “a direct impact on the tourism markets.”
