The Nothing brand will organize an auction via the StockX platform: a total of 100 copies of its very first phone will be able to find a buyer, three weeks before the official introduction of the product.
The Nothing phone (1) is making a lot of noise even before its launch, scheduled for July 12 from 5 p.m. The brand created by Carl Pei, co-founder of OnePlus, has the art of teasing and don’t hesitate to leak information and other photos that are crisp to say the least between now and the famous deadline.
Recently, for example, the manufacturer revealed the back of the Nothing phone (1), whose transparent appearance sticks once again to the stylistic philosophy of the company. Because the design of Nothing products stems from a very specific reflection: our electronic devices can also be works of art.
“It was time to bring a new look”
« For years, it seems that all artists have left the industry. All we’re left with are by-products, cold and tasteless. It was time to bring a fresh look to it all», Underlines Carl Pei in an official press release. From this observation, a very specific idea was born.
As with its ear headphones (1), Nothing is organizing an unprecedented auction dedicated to the first hundred copies of its smartphone. Each unit will be numbered. A way here to make them unique and to give them an exceptional character, even though mobile phones are a commonplace object these days.
48 hours of auction
For the occasion, Nothing has once again teamed up with StockX, a platform initially specializing in the resale of sneakers, which has since opened up to electronics. The auction will take place from June 21, from 1 p.m. (French time), to June 23 until 1 p.m. The opportunity for the most impatient and fortunate to join a small group of privileged people.
As a reminder, the Nothing phone (1) is expected to belong to the category of mid-range smartphones in view of the characteristics that have been leaked about it: 6.5-inch screen, FHD, OLED, 90 Hz, Snapdragon 778G chip, a 50 Mpx photo sensor, 4500 mAh battery and 8 GB of RAM. This is what one might expect.
