The American car manufacturer Tesla issued a press release on August 7 in which he announced the expansion of his product range – the first petrol-powered car will be released under this brand.
The new Tesla Model Z, traditionally given the next (this time the last) letter of the English alphabet as its name, will be produced with two powerplant options – with an electric and gasoline engine. In the US, the new sedan will go on sale at the end of 2023. Prices for the Model Z in the company’s home market will start at $22,000, making the novelty the most affordable Tesla model.
The petrol version will be equipped with a 2-litre turbocharged engine. The manufacturer promises acceleration to 100 km/h in 8 seconds and fuel consumption in urban mode is no more than 7 liters per 100 kilometers. Together with a large gas tank of 82 liters, this will allow Model Z to travel 1170 km at one gas station, significantly surpassing the performance of other models from the manufacturer. A feature of the gasoline version will be a powerful generator and a built-in socket, from which, if necessary, it will be possible to charge other electric vehicles.
The owner of the company Elon Musk noted that “Tesla has always been an innovative brand that is not afraid to offer the market non-obvious solutions, the value of which will be realized only after a while.”
