The Russian Defense Ministry continues to evacuate Russian citizens from Alma-Ata. It is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the statement of the department.

“The evacuation of Russian citizens by aircraft of the Russian Defense Ministry will continue until the task is completed,” the defense ministry said in a statement.

According to the Ministry of Defense, another Il-76 military transport aircraft with 145 Russian citizens on board is currently being prepared at the Almaty airport for delivery to the Chkalovsky airfield near Moscow.

During the last days 1,719 citizens of Russia and other states left Kazakhstan on the planes of the Ministry of Defense.

Formerly the Consulate General of the Russian Federation in Almaty reportedthat the registration of Russians for evacuation flights from a Kazakh city to Russia is suspended due to the workload.

Prior to that, the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development of Kazakhstan reportedthat international flights will not be serviced at the Almaty airport until at least 15 January.
