Representative of the Taliban terrorist movement (banned in Russia), deputy minister of information and culture in the interim cabinet formed by the Taliban, Zabihullah Mujahid, told a TASS correspondent the main sources of income for the organization that seized power in Afghanistan.
“Taxes and customs duties. In the future, we plan to receive income from mining, ”- said the representative of the movement.
The situation in the Afghan economy is rather difficult, despite the measures taken by the Taliban. By and large, this is due to the fact that the new authorities have access to only 0.1 percent of state reserves of $ 9.4 billion, since a significant part of them was frozen by the United States.
Earlier it became known that Taliban representatives held two-day talks with the American delegation in Qatar. The parties agreed on the delivery of humanitarian aid from the United States to Afghanistan and assistance to charitable organizations.
