Coronavirus, flu or cold start the same way, so if you feel unwell during an exacerbation of seasonal illnesses, it is better to take two tests – for flu and COVID-19. This was told by the therapist-immunologist Vladislav Zhemchugov, reports URA.RU.
“If there is a clinic, that is, there is a temperature, a headache, it is difficult to decide here and it is necessary to immediately pass tests for both coronavirus and flu,” the specialist said.
He noted that both seasonal respiratory infections and coronavirus are treated with almost the same set of medicines. The expert also advised to take the test on the third day after the onset of the illness.
In turn, infectious disease specialist Tatyana Chalenko explained that mild forms of coronavirus are no different from ordinary SARS, so tests will help determine the exact disease.
Earlier it was reported that the Russians will have to pass tests for COVID-19 until 2024. This is stated in the new program on state guarantees of free medical care, published by the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation.
According to the ministry’s calculations, in 2022, 18 million citizens will have to take the coronavirus test, in 2023 this figure will drop to 13 million, and in 2024 it will be about 10 million.
