Valery Garkalin was buried in Moscow. To say goodbye to the famous actor, who died at the age of 68, his colleagues, students, relatives and ordinary fans came to the building of the educational theater of GITIS. Many wept and comforted one another as a sign of sorrow.

Valery Garkalin’s untimely departure was a real shock for everyonewho was familiar with the actor. In the educational theater of GITIS on the day of farewell to the artist at the coffin sat the artist’s grief-stricken daughter Nick. Next to her is her husband Pavel Akimkin, actor Igor Zolotovitsky.

The latter made a very emotional speech. “I’m tired of burying friends. And Valery was my friend. He was a unique actor. His intonation cannot be confused with anyone,” Zolotovitsky said.

Olga Prokofieva, giving a mourning speech, noted: “If you live like you, there is a sense of everything!”

Vera Alentova, Yulia Menshova and her Igor Gorin, Yulia Peresild, Valery Barinov, Daniil Spivakovsky, Stas Namin, Klara Novikova and many others came to the mournful ceremony.

We will remind, Valery Garkalin died on November 20. In early October, the artist was hospitalized. He was diagnosed with a coronavirus. The terrible disease proceeded against the background of chronic ailments. The artist underwent several operations, heart attack, coma in different years.

Garkalin was buried at the Miusskoye cemetery in Moscow next to his wife Catherine, who died 12 years ago. A woman at one time pulled her husband out of the other world and looked at cancer in her. The graves of the spouses were drowned in roses. There were so many flowers that they had to be placed even in neighboring areas.
