The Ölçer Apartments, consisting of 32 flats with 8 floors, located on the edge of the overflowing Ezine Stream in Bozkurt district, where the flood hit, were demolished. A detention warrant was issued for the contractor Mehmet Özkan, who built the apartment building 3 years ago, where the search for 11 people is still in the wreckage, within the scope of the investigation launched by the İnebolu Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office regarding the buildings destroyed in the flood. Mehmet Özkan, who left the district with his family after the flood disaster, was caught and detained by police teams in Istanbul Esenyurt yesterday.
Mehmet Özkan, who was brought to the Abana district of Kastamonu in the morning, was transferred to the İnebolu Courthouse for the crime of “reckless killing and wounding” after the completion of his procedures at the District Police Department. Özkan was taken to the courthouse in company with the police. On the other hand, it was stated that Özkan built buildings in many districts of Kastamonu.
