The China International Import Expo (CIIE), planned, proposed, published and promoted by President Xi Jinping, launched today, a major decision for China to promote high-level opening-up in the new era, and an important measure taken by China to open its CIIE, to open its market to the world.
CIIE is hosted by the Ministry of Commerce and Shanghai Municipal People’s Government, and organized by the National Exhibition and Convention Bureau (Shanghai) Co., Ltd.
In view of the general requirements of “Better CIIE Hosting”, the quality of the exhibition has been constantly improved, its role has become increasingly strategic and prominent, and its international influence has become more extensive, which may facilitate the connection with the global market, realize industrial integration, promote innovation, and interconnect the rules between China and the world. , CIIE has become an explanatory window into new development patterns, a platform for promoting high-level openness, an effective vector of high-quality development, and a major platform for multilateralism.
With the functions of a platform for international procurement, investment promotion, people-to-people exchanges, openness and cooperation, CIIE’s growing role in international public goods has won widespread praise at home and abroad.
The exhibition mainly includes domestic exhibition, business exhibition, Hongqiao International Economic Forum and professional activities, and the sixth CIIE will be held in Shanghai from November 5 to 10.
Contributors from about 154 countries, regions and international organizations are participating in the exhibition, covering the exhibition halls with various products from technology, automobiles, medical equipment and instruments, medical care, service trade, food and agriculture.
The exhibition is distinguished as the first import exhibition at the national level in the world, providing a platform for companies to display their products, promote their brands, and find more business partners in China, the second largest economy in the world.
It is an important step for the Chinese government to hold CIIE to provide strong support for trade liberalization and economic globalization and actively open the Chinese market to the world. It facilitates countries and regions around the world to enhance economic cooperation and trade, promote global trade and global economic growth to make the global economy more open.
As many as 18 Arab countries have participated in CIIE, including Algeria, Comoros, Djibouti, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Mauritania, Morocco, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Tunisia, UAE and Syria.
