In the past few months there have been repeated rumors and speculation about whether and when the multiplayer shooter Star Wars Battlefront 3 could appear. After all, the release of the predecessor was four years ago. But the chances of a third episode don’t seem very good.
At least that’s what current tweets from the well-known industry insider and speaker Tom Henderson suggest. This had made a name for itself in the past through several correct statements and prognoses. According to his information, the development studio DICE has already submitted a concept for Star Wars Battlefront 3 to Electronic Arts. However, this was ultimately rejected – among other things for financial reasons. So it is supposedly said: “It was rejected because it would take 20 percent more sales to make the same amount of money.”
Battlefront 3 was a pitched title from DICE, but ultimately, the title was shot down by EA due to licensing costs.
“It got turned down because it takes 20% more sales to make the same money”, said one past developer.

Added to this is the fact that several key members of the Battlefront team have now left the company. These include the previous creative director Dennis Brännvall, who had a great influence on the series. According to Henderson, there are currently two Star Wars teams under the EA banner in development. However, these are more likely to be single-player titles with a large story factor.
