Caja Rural de Aragón will finance with 2.8 million euros the digitization of the general community of the Canal de Aragón and Cataluña and its base communities.

This financial operation will allow around 12,000 irrigators, nearly 105,000 hectares, more than 3,000 livestock farms and a large number of agri-food and service industries will benefit from this initiative, which entails a total investment of close to eight million euros.

With this funding, the innovation to make irrigation management more efficient at a time of special water incidence in the sector.

Furthermore, the investment is aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals to protect and restore ecosystems related to water, thanks to the implementation of innovation in the efficient use of water resources.

The financial operation has been signed between David Soler, director of Caja Rural de Aragón in Binéfar, and José Luis Pérez, president of the General Community of Irrigators of the Canal of Aragón and Catalonia.
