Janet Jackson spoke about getting older.
The singer spoke in an interview about her lifelong struggle to accept her body and aging. In an interview with Allure magazine, the 55-year-old said openly: “We all get to this point at some point. We all want to stay young forever, but the aging process is inevitable.” And further: “There are other options, however. I don’t know when my day will come, but at some point it will come and I can choose which way I will go. I hope I age with grace. It is either a little tata or graceful . “
At the time, she made a conscious decision not to dress feminine, says Jackson: “I was always more boyish. So it was always about pants, suits – even as a young teenager. I look back at pictures and always had a suit with a tie, a bow tie or suspenders. I’ve always loved wearing black and never wanted to reveal a lot of my body. ” The singer also reveals: “To accept myself and to learn to love myself for myself, my body, that was a big step. I try to feel comfortable in it. Just get started, want to do something different. It took a lot of work. but I’m glad I did it. It was a way of accepting and loving, accepting myself and my body. ” Jackson concludes: “I used to have to be thin and always look a certain way. And now everything is accepted and it’s all beautiful and I absolutely love that.”
