Elon Musk, owner of the electric car manufacturer Tesla, presented this Wednesday the plans and the concept of what will be its first plant in Mexicolocated in Santa Catarina, Nuevo León.

“We are planning a grand opening. Tesla’s next gigafactory will be near Monterrey in Nuevo León.We will continue to expand production at our other existing plants. The factory in Mexico will not supply any, it will be supplementary, to be clear,” said the richest man in the world.
Tesla’s next-generation car will be manufactured in Mexico
During the Investor Day 2023 and with the presence ofThe Governor of Nuevo León, Samuel GarcíaThe Tesla team said that the plant in Mexico plans to produce its next-generation cars.
“In Mexico our next generation of vehicles will be built, but we will also build it in our other plants. This is really about getting everything on track and moving forward in the coming years,” they added.
“Beyond assembling the cars and the batteries they contain, it is also reconfiguring everything that is done. It will have a different way of building in the future,” they added.
Musk stated that in the future they will need to manufacture their electric cars in less time. “We have a variant of the way we are producing and we will reconfigure it in an efficient way.”
“We are focusing on making it an accessible car, this is the difficult part of producing them. We have to have the entire production chain ready to manufacture them,” he added.
Gigafactory in Santa Catarina will help with global expansion
