Beauty is in the details.
Question of marketing, Marc-André ter Stegen has always been used to wearing green or orange since his arrival at Barça. But this Sunday, the German goalkeeper will appear dressed in black for the reception of Valencia. The reason: to subtly pay tribute to José Ángel Iribar, legendary Basque goalkeeper and resident of Athletic from the 1962/1963 to 1979/1980 season, who is blowing his 80e candle this weekend. With the agreement of the Spanish league, Athletic Bilbao had actually offered to all the clubs of the national elite to present their respective doorman in black this weekend. Not all did. But Ter Stegen will make this little nod to the most capped player in the Basque team with 614 appearances in all competitions.

With the approval of the arbitration and @LaLigaAthletic Club proposes to all the clubs in the first two categories that their goalkeepers play the characteristic color of Txopo this weekend. #AthleticClub 🦁
