Relatives ask that the investigations continue until they find Flor

Flor’s husband is accused by the Prosecutor’s Office of being the main suspect in the disappearance of the young mother.

Rodolfo Delgado, attorney general imposed by the ruling party, accepted that the Police and Prosecutor’s Office do not know the whereabouts of Flor María García, who disappeared on March 16 and confirmed that they have sufficient evidence to determine that Joel Omar Valle Leiva, Flor’s husband , planned his disappearance.

Flor lived with her husband and two children on the street from Cojutepeque to San Ramón, next to the family’s house there is a vacant lot.

Joel Valle was captured on the afternoon of Friday, June 25, at his residence, located on the street that leads from Cojutepeque to San Ramón, where Flor also lived until the day she was reported missing by Joel himself.

In the raids, carried out by the police and the Prosecutor’s Office, Francisco Boanerges Valle, Joel’s cousin, was also captured as a necessary accomplice, according to the Minister of Justice, Gustavo Villatoro.

Police sources also confirmed the capture of a cousin of Joel, who they identified as Francisco Valle.

“Due to the proximity of the perpetrator, the investigation has been complex and has demanded different expertise from other cases of common crime, but we have solid evidence,” said Villatoro.

The minister explained that the first accused planned and executed the disappearance of Flor; the second, helped to commit the crime.

For his part, Delgado explained that, with the support of tests carried out by the judicial body, they were able to identify evidence in Joel’s body that, added to other indications, reveal the authorship and complicity of the two captured. An unofficial source told El Diario de Hoy that the man had several scratches on his body, after the disappearance of Flor.

Without elaborating, the minister added that, in these three months of investigation, interviews, intelligence work and mobile phone expertise were carried out and that all the evidence found points to the two detainees as responsible.

Flor lived, for more than six years, together with Joél, with whom she has two children; However, it was not until three years ago that they decided to get married, even though they had had relationship problems, according to Flor’s relatives, days after she disappeared.

After the capture of Joel, as the main suspect, the authorities reported that the two children, children of the couple, were handed over to close relatives for safekeeping during the process.

Flor’s family maintains a constant search campaign and hopes that the authorities will continue with the investigations until they find her whereabouts.

During the presentation of the accused, the director of the Police, Mauricio Arriaza Chicas, said that the investigations are continuing to find him the location of Flor, “but we are not going to pronounce at this time on that point,” he justified.

Those captured will be presented to the courts within the next 72 hours, within the term established by law and will be charged with the crime of Disappearance of persons, regulated in article 148-A, of the Penal Code and which has penalties of between 15 and 25 years.

The case

Flor María García, 33, worked as an assistant in the dental office of her husband, Joel Omar Valle Leiva, located in downtown Cojutepeque.

According to Joel, to Flor’s relatives, and to the PNC and FGR authorities, on Tuesday, March 16, the young woman left at 6:30 in the morning for San Salvador, to go to buy medical supplies that were missing in the clinic.

Although Flor had a car, Joel said that she had traveled in the public transport and that she had not brought her cell phone because she had forgotten to charge it on Monday night, so there was no way to communicate or track her.

The man added that when she left, he was asleep, therefore he did not see what clothes he was wearing when he left for San Salvador.

Eight days after her disappearance, her family members told El Diario de Hoy that they doubted that Flor had traveled to the capital, as Joel had assured them on the day of her disappearance. “We think that maybe something happened to her in Cojutepeque,” said Isabel García, Flor’s sister at that time.

The night before her disappearance, Flor communicated at ten o’clock at night through the chat of siblings they have in common, and at no time did she tell them that she planned to travel to the capital.

In the first weeks, as a response to the slowness of the authorities, the relatives of the disappeared woman carried out a series of public activities to demand the search for the young woman, even the relatives who lived abroad left everything behind to join the work; however, Joel stayed away from all diligence.

While the relatives carried out the first actions, in the central park of Cojutepeque, he was, along with his children, in the house.

When asked about the case by this means, he limited himself to saying that he did not feel well to be able to speak and that he did not know anything about the activity that Flor’s relatives were carrying out in the town.

Flor met Joel Valle, who later became her husband, while working in a call center in San Salvador. After living together, and having their second child, Flor surprised her family when she informed them that she was getting married, as they had had problems before.

Both are part of the Emmanuel Baptist Church and, days prior to the young woman’s disappearance, they had participated in a couple’s spiritual retreat. “She was happy because she felt that it helped her at home,” commented a relative.

After Joel’s capture, as the main suspect in Flor’s disappearance, her family members expressed that he was always a totally indifferent person and estranged from Flor’s relatives.

“What this case makes very clear to us, and others that arise in the intimacy of the family, is that we have to be aware of our children when they report to us that they have been victims of aggression by their life partner, These are cases that we should not let go lightly and we have to seek the support of the institutions ”, he indicated.

The official suggested networking among family members to have constant monitoring of this type of situation in families. He added that no violence can be considered normal.

“We have to deal with domestic violence, report it and move away (if we are victims). In this case, if the families had been more connected, around the violence that took place in the interior, it could have had another outcome ”, he concluded.

The “New Yorker” in revolt picks up the Wintour – People house

“The Devil wears Prada, but to the workers nada”: with this slogan, written in the characteristic typeface of the headlines of the “New Yorker”, over one hundred employees of America’s most intellectual weekly they marched on Anna Wintour’s house in a quiet block of Greenwich Village in a protest for the long tug-of-war that for two years has been opposing the Conde ‘Nast publishing house to the workers of the almost centenary newspaper: journalists, proofreaders, fact-checkers who every week 47 times a year guarantee an impeccable product to its affectionate readers. Some policemen watched impassively as the march stopped in front of the empty “townhouse” of the Wintour for months. Sullivan Street: the owner, who bought it years ago on a $ 1.6 million interest-free loan from then-publisher SI Newhouse, spent the months of the lockdown in the Hamptons. “You don’t live on prestige alone” was another of the signs raised by demonstrators ready to provide figures to show that, as with other jobs in the cultural sector, wages do not guarantee an acceptable standard of living in a city with a high cost of life. life like New York.
“Working at the New Yorker is a luxury that only those who have a wealthy family can afford it “, explained Geneviève Bormes, who started dealing with the covers five years ago with an initial salary of 33 thousand dollars a year. job insecurity: many at the “New Yorker”, including prestigious collaborators, are considered freelancers and do not enjoy the benefits provided by the employment laws.
Employees of the “New Yorker” they organized themselves into a union since the dispute began two years ago: in the event of a strike, the News Guild asked all collaborators not to hand over the pieces to prevent the publication of the magazine. The protest represented an escalation and Condé Nast had tried to block it by declaring “unacceptable” and “illegal” the fact that the home of a VIP at the top of the group was targeted.
The “New Yorker” is the only Conde Nast magazine that does not respond to the “queen of fashion”, but Wintour, immortalized in 2006 by Meryl Streep in the film “The Devil Wears Prada”, was targeted because in the eyes of the world it represents its face. The protest is also the latest episode of protest against Anna Wintour who last year was forced into a rare mea culpa for discriminating against black journalists, photographers and stylists. However, the criticisms had not stopped the apparently unstoppable rise of the director of “Vogue” who last December emerged as the winner in a reorganization at the top with two new titles – head of content worldwide and global director of “Vogue” – which give her the last word on what is written in over thirty markets around the world.
