Ferragamo takes the number 1 of Burberry, Gobbetti new to – Economy

Salvatore Ferragamo has reached an agreement to appoint Marco Gobbetti as general manager and CEO. Gobbetti, current CEO of Burberry, boasts a long professional career in the luxury and fashion sector, where he held the position of CEO of Moschino before joining the LVMH group, where he spent 13 years covering the role of CEO of Givenchy and Celine.
Gobbetti will take up the post as soon as he is free from his contractual obligations with the English group. An extraordinary board of directors of Salvatore Ferragamo was convened next Thursday for the formalities connected with the appointment.
The announcement pushed Ferragamo to Piazza Affari (+ 2.9% to 19.86 euros) while in London Burberry sank by 4.7%.
