Swiss confidence in data security remained intact in 2021 despite the increase in cyber attacks, according to a study by Comparis.
Confidence in internet payment methods has grown, while confidence in data protection regulations in Switzerland is eroding.
Regarding data security, on a scale of 1 to 10, respondents’ responses average 5.5, a result similar to that of the previous year, and slightly up from that of 2019, indicates the comparator in a press release.
Twint au top
The results are even on the rise when it comes to means of payment via the Internet. Users feel particularly secure with Twint, with the average rating rising to 7 out of 10, down from 6.2 last year, Comparis reports.
On the other hand, the percentage of people believing that data protection in Switzerland is well regulated is eroding with a rate of 61.3% against 65.7% the previous year. This is the lowest percentage recorded since 2018.
The representative survey was carried out in October by the innofact market research institute on a sample of 1022 people from all over Switzerland.
