Successor is being developed in Boston

Cyberpunk 2077 core development team moves to Boston for the sequel.

CD Projekt RED released Cyberpunk 2077 almost two years ago and has already announced that the game expansion Phantom Liberty will be released in 2023. More than 350 employees are working on this expansion.

Quest director Pawel Sasko has now revealed that the core development team will be moving to Boston, North America to set up a new studio at the Sequel to Cyberpunk 2077 Will work.

Further said he that the core development team called on the next project after the release of Cyberpunk 2077’s only expansion Project Orion will turn to pre-development. This sequel is handled by CD Projekt RED North America. The studio is supported by the studios CD Projekt Vancouver and the main studio in Warsaw.

CD Projekt RED has already stated that most of their future released games will also have multiplayer components. So it will be interesting to see if the future cyberpunk game can offer a multiplayer mode as well.

Other CDPR projects include a new trilogy in The Wichter series and a new RPG called Hadar.
