At the scene, the officers met with a 77-year-old man, who informed them that, moments before, a subject had threatened him and stripped him of his wallet in which he had cash and personal identification, and pointed to the probable person in charge who was running meters ahead.

A uniformed officer from the SSC intercepted the possible implicated person, who had in his hand a knife and, while resisting arrest, he struggled with the officer, threatened him and caused a penetrating injury to his left hand, while continuing to threaten and attempt to harm him, the SSC reported.

Seeing his life at risk, the policeman carried out a shot and injured the subject approximately 32 years of age; however, he lost his life.

The area was cordoned off and emergency services were called; The paramedics who attended the site diagnosed the possible aggressor with no vital signs due to a gunshot wound.

The SSC specified that the uniformed man and the weapon of charge were left at the disposal of the corresponding Public Ministry agent who will define his legal situation; meanwhile, personnel from the General Directorate of Internal Affairs became aware of the facts, to collaborate with the ministerial authorities in the investigations that derive from the case.
