The Hong Kong Stock Exchange closed the session with solid gains thanks to a positive tone after the forced pause on Friday due to the passage of Typhoon Saola: the Hang Seng index, with the latest data on US employment which eased the pressure on the Federal Reserve on rates, marks a gain of 2.51%, rising to 18,844.16 points. The Shanghai and Shenzhen Stock Exchanges also rose, with their Composite indices ending trading with gains of 1.40% and 1.44% respectively, at 3,177.06 and 1,981.63 points.
