Spain – League start planned for June – Sport

The Spanish football league apparently wants to resume play on June 20. Javier Aguirre, Mexican trainer from CD Leganes, said in an interview that the league initially declined to confirm. According to Aguirre, the season should be completed by July 26th. Most clubs are starting training these days: FC Barcelona started on Friday, Real Madrid get on Monday.

In extensive tests, however, five players in the first and second league are said to have tested positive for the corona virus. As the public broadcaster RAC1 reported, the tests carried out on Thursday identified three first division players and two second division players for all teams. The three first division players should come from three different clubs, the two second division players from one club. In Spain, game operations have been suspended since March 12. With a good 26,000 deaths and 220,000 cases of infection, Spain is one of the countries most affected by the pandemic.
