The novelty, according to the manufacturer, has become more compact than its predecessor, but has better sound quality and more effective noise cancellation. An integrated V1 processor and a new 6mm driver with 20% larger magnet, coupled with two microphones with a noise sensor on each earbud, are responsible for suppressing external noise. The adaptive noise cancellation system assesses the environment and automatically adjusts the sound to the noise around, and can also take into account the wind noise on the street, blocking it, and people’s conversations – if someone speaks to a person wearing headphones, the music turns off and external sounds are amplified.

The WF-1000XM4 received support for the proprietary LDAC codec, which transmits Hi-Res quality music, as well as 360 Reality Audio function with surround sound effect. The earbuds work with voice assistants Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa, are waterproof and sweat-proof according to the IPX4 standard and wireless charging. With activated noise canceling, the earbuds can work up to eight hours without recharging, without it – up to 12 hours. The case provides an additional 16 hours of use, and a quick charge in five minutes gives you energy for an hour of listening to music.
